The whole policy, in plain English. Last updated 9 August 2026.
We use it to make your portrait. That's all. We don't sell it, we don't share it, and we don't put it in our marketing unless we ask you first and you say yes.
We use it to send your versions and, if you order, to tell you what's happening with it. If you'd rather we didn't keep it, say so and we'll delete it.
Making and sending a portrait involves a few other companies, and each sees only what it needs to do its part: Google makes the artwork from your photo, Microsoft carries our email, Stripe handles your payment (we never see your card details), Printful prints and posts the frame, and Cloudflare hosts this website.
If you don't order, your photo and the versions we made from it are deleted within 60 days. If you do order, we keep your chosen artwork and your delivery details for as long as it takes to fulfil the order and put right anything that goes wrong with it — and the basic order record (what was bought, when, for how much) for six years, because UK tax rules require it.
Email hello@abovethesofa.co.uk and ask us to delete anything we hold about you. A person reads it and it gets done.
This site doesn't set any. The longer version is on the cookies page, and it's barely longer.
